This descrimination affects both the young and the old. The only group not to experience ageism are those people aged between 35 and 44.

Definition:
Ageism is a type of discrimination that involves prejudice against people based upon their age. Similar to racism and sexism, ageism involves holding negative stereotypes about people of different ages. The term ageism was first used by gerontologist Robert N. Butler to describe the discrimination of older adults. Today, the tern is often applied to any type of age-based discrimination, whether it involves prejudice against children, teenagers, adults or senior-citizens.

It is very important combat all sorts of discriminations especially ageism. Age discrimination for the old group because the world population is growing older and for the younger one because when they don't have first-hand experience, it is very diffcult for them to enter the world work.

At the moment, old people are at the head of countries (I mean politicians are old).

Yes you are right Gérard ! Anyway having experience is not always a plus when you grow older and being unexperienced when you are young is a disavantage.

I meant that senior citizens mainly head France especially in the regions and thus some are not whinging much. We'll see in the future.

Now, that's true that at work, heads are around 50; seniors are paid too much and are not very flexible while Young people are not usually immediately efficient in their jobs.
