Hi everyone,

I'm very interested in this subject, are you?
-> Protect your car tech privacy with these six simple tips
Your car stores a lot of your personal information. Here are a few simple steps that you can take to help protect your privacy.
...

 • Clear your address book when returning a rental
 • Disconnect from the cloud before selling your car
 • Reset your garage door opener when selling your car
 • Protect your home by making your car's GPS less accurate
 • Get rid of your data before getting rid of a portable navigation device
 • Beware what you share when updating your status

Hi everyone,

The message I just sent to the members of Roundtable+Stammtisch in Ermont:

Hi everyone.

You may know that I was a specialist in computer and information security. I’m not as good as in the past but I’m still keen on the subject.

I invite you to read this interesting article regarding privacy: Protect your car tech privacy with these six simple tips. It’s full of good advice.

It’s the example of private information saved in your car.
Sold car, stollen car, dumped car, exchanged for a new car, etc. non erasing data would lead to your home, to opening your garage door...
Erase data but also think about erasing it remotely in case your car were stollen.
On the other hand, think about setting remote localization (useful in case of robbery, right?)

Oodles of devices are in similar situations: laptops, smartphones, tablets, etc. think of it too.

Hope This Helps.

Take care.
See ya soon.

Gérard

You know all those people who push their Foursquare and Gowalla locations out onto Twitter? Now there's an aggregator for aspiring crooks who want to rob their houses.
