Contrary Proverbs

I do appreciate this picture and would like to stop a bit on the subject, waiting for your postings.
First, as far as I know, "proverb" means in place of a speech, means that using such proverbs avoid to create a sentence to speak but such sayings were created, used, weighed, evaluated and carry much truth   .

What's good is that a proverb has a good weight that usually impress your counterpart.
What's good (for us but not for trust) is that you can find another proverb that says the contrary ;)with as much weight.
Proverbs were created way back so that nobody remembers any more, when peoples were not closely linked so that the counterpart in other languages are not the exact translation.
Proverbs translate wisdom of humanity and they usually exist in any language.

Will you find the French équivalents?

Comparing proverbs in different languages is very interesting because the translation reflects the culture of the country. For instance "Qui se ressemble s'assemble" est beaucoup moins concret que Birds of a feather flock together.

At times, yes.

Let's have a look in Spanish "Dios los cría y ellos se juntan"
They hint at religion (I hope that the expression is correct) like latin people.
