Hi everyone,

You know I admire Bill Gates and am proud to be lucky to stay in touch with him.

Here's the address of one of his blogs TheGatesNotes -America’s Greatest Inventor .
In the last article, he speaks about Thomas Edison and the book he foreworded -> Edison and the Rise of Innovation
America’s Greatest Inventor
I love learning about history, especially the history of innovation. I recently got to write the foreword for Edison and the Rise of Innovation, a new book about one of the great inventors ever. I thought I would share the foreword with you, along with a few photos of some of the Edison-related items I’m lucky enough to own.
Foreword
...
Believe me, Gates writes with a very good English.

Hi everyone,

What if we could prevent malaria by protecting mosquitoes instead of people?
It’s an intriguing idea: http://b-gat.es/1b3Jxm3
Pointed out by Gates, though not in the "Gates' Notes" but in WiredScience:

-> Preventing Malaria by Protecting Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes suck. And malaria sucks even more. The disease—caused by the Plasmodium parasite, which is transmitted by mosquitoes—infects more than 300 million people and kills 1.2 million annually. One way to protect humans, though, is to protect the mosquitoes: If they’re not sick, you won’t be either. Researchers are working on two ways to get this done, both using bacteria. (Field tests could be five years away, so keep slapping on the DEET.)

hi Gérard, everyone
I didn't know much about Bill Gates pesonnality and I read about it. What I particularly like is summarized in his own words
bill Gates a écrit:“I certainly love the IT thing,” he says. “But when we want to improve lives, you’ve got to deal with more basic things like child survival, child nutrition.”

Hi Muriel,

I don't know what you know about Gates; something that should please you: Bill Gates is the richest guy in the world (#2 at times) and he decided not to give his money to his children - he does think it will be better for them to build their own lives.

If you've got the opportunity, read about BillG, from his youth to his stopped studies at Harvard to his deal with Big Blue (he was a teenager) to his successful career at Microsoft... unfortunately for MS, he left the company; fortunately for the world, his wife and he use their money and spend their lives visiting and helping poor people.
He is an incredible guy!
