Howdy.

I'm posting oodles of pics, here in "English Idoms" or elsewhere.
Sometimes, the postings come again, and again.

Don't learn them by heart, don't be bored learning...

In my mind, learning a language had to be a bit like when a baby learns from their parents.
Don't be bored learning, practice and the things you need, the things that are repeated will be fixed in your mind.

Practice, practice, you will learn without big effort (though efforts will accelerate knowledge).

Informal Phonetic Contractions in English. These are primarily American ("cuppa" is all over the place), and not written. But seeing them will help you recognize them when you hear them.

Positive, Comparative, Superlative in English
FLUENTLAND.COM

Additional personal notes:
Sometimes the consonant ending a one-syllable adjective is doubled, it's not to bother the French
but to indicate that the pronunciation has to be kept:
- thin, thinner, thinnest - the "i" is pronounced I, not aI
- fat, fatter, fattest - the sound stays a, not eI

NB: Noah Webster apparently forgot to get rid of the double-t of wetter Wink
As you know, there's a difference between Am and Brit En regarding doubled consonants after "e"
eg traveled, canceled, etc
but wetter...
there's no alternative for the sound "e", so no need to double the consonant.
