Those foot prints are probably the oldest in Europe which is a very important discovery !

A team of British scientists have found what they believe to be the oldest human footprints in Europe, dating back at least 800,000 years.
Analysis of the prints revealed they were likely made by five early humans including men, women and children who were making their way south along the muddy banks of an ancient estuary.

They seem to have become extinct in Europe by 600,000 years ago and were perhaps replaced by the species Homo heidelbergensis. Neanderthals followed from about 400,000 years ago, and eventually modern humans some 40,000 years ago,” said co-author Prof Chris Stringer of the Natural History Museum, UK
