Poetry eve at Falmouth
Hello guys,
I am writing to you to share my excitement after our first poetry night at Cafe Polyglot Falmouth.
35 persons turned up. 15 languages represented!
It was amazing, people got up naturally to read out their poem, it flowed very well and created an intimate atmosphere.
We had tears but laughter also . We have discovered a part of a country's culture but we've discovered each other as well.
Everyone was so enthusastic that ideas flowed back to me for our monthly Special Night.
The members want to get involved
On that night we've recruted quite a few new members as they heard about the poetrey eve. Good to know that Cafe Polyglot is subject of talk in town!
The main comment which kept coming back was:"i can't believe Falmouth is so cosmopolitan!"
I feel i've done my job, i feel fully integrated in my adopted community.
But i shan't stop there!
bisous,
vic

I hope to be present in the café polyglote in Calais on the 21st December, which is our usual Tuesday gathering.

Hello Ghislaine,
sadly i won't be able to make it on the tuesday in Calais as my mother will be out of hospital on that day. but i will definitely book my evening to go to boulogne's cafe polyglot on the wednesday. If you can make it on the wednesday would be brilliant otherwise we'll meet again on this forum.
cheers,
vic

I'm not sure because it will be a hard week for me, with all children and grand-children coming for Christmas.
Not to worry, we'll make it some other time...
