Emotion prevents reflexion

A few years ago I read Michel Lacroix's book "Le culte de l'émotion". It made me realize that today's world generates strong emotions : In sport, video games, advertising, information, social networks etc. Anything is good to give us an adrenaline rush. If I want to think, I have to turn off the television, close the newspaper and focus on my own thinking.
The way information is produced and disseminated is very important. Some people will access information directly from a Leaflet or a website but others will gain Knowledge through word of mouth or through interaction with a variety of intermediairies. Information should be accurate of course because lies are useless and people are fed up with fake news. Anyway I find it crucial that everyone could question themselves and develop their own critical thinking skills outside any emotional context which manipulates them. Is it the key to democracy ?
what do you think ?

Can we ?
Hi MurielB i've read your post about critical thinking in th 21 st century.
It's true that the more technologie grows the more it's difficult to focus in a thinking process.
But, as human, known as an incredibly emotional being,is it possible to prevent oneself to avoid emotion ?

Re: Emotion prevents reflexion
Hello Kenzo
For me it has nothing to do with technology. I meant that the information is always directed to our emotions and not to our intelligence. as a way of manipulating us. For me it is important
"to follow my heart but always have my brain with me" otherwise it is a catastrophe.

I would say=>is it possible to prevent oneself from avoiding emotion ?

prevent from doing
prevent someone from doing something
to keep someone from doing something. You can't prevent me from doing it! We must try to prevent her from going back there.
