A study in 2011 found that on a typical day Americans were taking in five times as much information as they had done 25 years earlier – and this was before most people had bought smartphones. In 2019 a study by academics in Germany, Ireland and Denmark identified that humans’ attention span is shrinking, probably because of digital intrusion, but was manifesting itself both “online and offline”.
7h5hrs is the average time per day we spend on media consumption. This includes streaming content, checking news, bulletins and using social media. unfortuunatly an academic study identified that humans' attention is shrinking.  Attention is needed in almost all our daily tasks. It allows us to concentrate on the work in hand, to integrate data, to understand information, whether oral or written, and to express thoughts. The British artist who decided to spend a month in complete darkness may have had a good idea scratch

We can therefore do as this artist did but for a shorter time and practice meditation. 
Meditation is a relaxing practice that can help manage stress and anxiety. It promotes attention and memory. People who practice meditation seem to be more resistant to pain. Meditation is also thought to promote cardiovascular health and immunity
