Protecting oral health isn’t the only thing mouthwash is good for. A new belly button gel containing a mouthwash ingredient could be used to save thousands of newborns in developing countries. While the gel has already shown to prevent infection of the umbilical cord, it must first be approved before it can be sold at an anticipated not-for-profit price.
