Thanks for your post as it obliges me to share thoughts with you, and the forum.

I may be wrong as I didn't check yet (I will for sure as well as try to ask natives).

i had to check the word "cranky" on the internet to make sure I knew its meaning
=>When someone is upset, anygry, or unhappy. Another word for "Pissed Off". Usually said in a non-offensive manner.

For me, cranky has several meanings, and it's not as strong as pissed off... I mean that, as an old French guy, I don't like swearwords much, and wouldn't say "pissed off" without becoming shameful (thinking of my mother) but I would use cranky; even in this realm, cranky is not exactly a synonym of pissed off.

As a person who has been in that situation with deep down hurt and a scar on my heart. I would tell the man who hurt me this: " You know I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you." and simply ask him to exit my life...........................
