Len Pennie,the poétesse who defends the Scottish language

Since Len Pennie wrote a poem called I’m no Havin’ Children and posted it on her Twitter account, she has fast become a star.

Scottish English is also called Scottisch Standard English. It is used in a written form and is commonly used in non-literary texts. It is sometimes confused with scots, but the two languages are quite different. Indeed, Scottisch is a Germanic language close to modern English, but it is important to be able to distinguish between the two.

But how was Scottish English born? It turns out that it is actually a sweet mix between Scots and English. This blending took place from the 17th century onwards, and there have been a number of linguistic changes and compromises.
