Phrasal verbs
Let's go back to the phrasal verbs. They are my favourite. Without them you never sound English
To slip up (to make a mistake)
To set off (to leave on a journey)
To blow up (to destroy with explosives)
to call for (to demand a change)
to wear out (machines and clothes are no longer good after a certain time)
To cut down (To reduce what you eat or drink)
To work out (To solve a problem)
to carry on (To continue doing sg)
to shake off ( for instance if you recover rapidly and easily from a cold)
to fit in (for instance a group if you are quickly become accepted)
Do you know them all ? could you teach us more ?

Re: phrases and sayings
Hi Muriel, JB, everyone,
Thanks for the video.
> colloquial English
Not restricted to colloquial English, phrasal verbs are mandatory in nowadays' language.
(I understood your colloquial as informal/casual, maybe you just meant spoken English)
