Saint Patrick's day is a national day for Ireland. My daughter used to work in an irish pub in England. It was fun on Saint Parick's day and the pub was full of people drinking Guinness. Of course....
Gosh ! I should have said to my husband " Happy Paddy's day !"

They correspond with 3 meanings of "paddy", do you know which ones?

There are lots of Irish in the great Paris and, in a city located in the south of Paris, they call this period (yes, more than one day ): Irlandays!

Both!

Several meanings:
- "rogne" is acceptable
Paddy is an informal word which is (in the UK) "une crise de colère"
To get into a paddy is "piquer une colère"
- I don't think it's "riz décortiqué" but rather a kind, a variety of rice also named paddy in French
Paddy or paddyfield is a "rizière"
- a paddy wagon (US only) is a "panier à salade" or a "voiture cellulaire"

- Paddy (with a capital initial) is an offensive word for "Irlandais"

- I notice the biased favorite subjects: Irish also have shamrocks, tap dancing, Celtic music, etc.
- "I learnt"; the American spelling is learned (of course not a mistake for a British fan!)
