Male smokers risk erasing their Y chromosomes

Message  gerardM le Ven 5 Déc - 17:55

Hi.

News from Science

New research has found that smoking may erase the male sex chromosome. In fact, male smokers are up to four times more likely to have blood cells with no Y chromosome than nonsmokers. That's bad news: Y chromosome loss has been linked to a shorter life span as well as a higher risk of cancer.
