what about that definition Gérard ?

“To finish” has a meaning closer to "end"; whereas “to complete” has a meaning closer to “fullfil”. Complete can be used to show that you have the whole of something.

Gérard to end=>to come to a final point or to come to a specified place.
to quit=>to leave a place
to exit=>to go out

The 3 meanings are slightly different

Gérard I'm not very keen on fasting and I prefer babysit for my grandchildren. I'm sure you share my view-point

Taking care of kids keeps grandparents physically active and helps relieve stress. And on the flip side, spending time with grandma and grandpa is also great for kids. It gives them extra stability and emotional support.

Muriel, it's not either fasting ot babysitting, you can do both.

However "I prefer babysit for my grandchildren" is not correct, you have to say "I prefer babysitting for my grandchildren" or "I prefer to babysit for my grandchildren".

Muriel, it's not either fasting ot babysitting, you can do both.

However "I prefer babysit for my grandchildren" is not correct, you have to say "I prefer babysitting for my grandchildren" or "I prefer to babysit for my grandchildren".

Tx for your correction. The problem with fasting is that you're hungry and no longer nice with the kids aren't you ?

I just wanted to point out the "give a damn about" and more specifically the "damn".
I often use synonyms here: "don't give a rat", "don't give a shit", etc.
Something interesting about "damn" is that it's usually an adjective or an adverb or an interjection.
Here "damn" is a noun and the expression "don't give a damn" is the only use:

A n not to give a damn s'en ficher¡; not to give a damn about sb/sth se ficher de qn/qch; it's not worth a damn¡ ça ne vaut pas un clou¡; he can't sing worth a damn US il chante comme un pied¡.
