Luxembourgers are language-savvy!
Nearly 100 percent of Luxembourg residents state that they speak a foreign language, the highest number recorded in the European Union, according to data published by statistics agency Eurostat.
According to Eurostat, 99 percent of Luxembourg residents said in 2011 that they speak a foreign language.

A couple of years a go we ( Lille polyglot café) met Luxembourg club polyglotte http://www.clubpolyglotte.com/ because they had come for "braderie de Lille"
It is true that they speak very good English. Here are some photos.

La langue c'est Le Lien, Language is The Link, La Lengua es el Nexo de unión, Sprache ist die Verbindung, Il Linguaggio è Il Legame, La Lingvo estas La Ligilo etc.

The survey cheats a bit (they noted it) as in Luxembourg there're 3 official languages (Luxembourger, German and French) and they counted German and French as foreign languages.
Now, people usually consider that it is easier to learn other languages (when you already master several).
