How to become Parisian in one hour

How to become Parisian in one hour".
Re: How to become Parisian in one hour
Hi everyone,
I opened this thread 1 or 2 years ago.
Olivier and his show came a long way.
Olivier was under contract to a small theater (people predicted that it would never be successful).
Once the contract over, Olivier could go to another room and his show -renewed- is now played in the "Théâtre des Nouveautés" on the Grands Boulevards of the 9th district of Paris with a quadruple number of seats! And the performances are sold out!
Moreover, Olivier also started a show in London (I guess it's monthly).
Olivier is someone I like much 'cause he stayed very humble and very accessible!
I wrote to him to provide a few ideas and get ads.
He's actually got, now, a good deal of contacts and so, a good deal of ads; things snowballed!
Olivier just posted a message on Facebook:
( https://www.facebook.com/olivier.giraud.144?fref=ts )Invitation pour le TOURNAGE DU DVD "How to become parisian in one hour?" lundi 22 avril a 20h, duree : 2h30, entrée gratuite, bonne humeur exigée!!!!!! MERCI!!!!!

Re: How to become Parisian in one hour
Hi Guilaine,
The show is rather designed for tourists.
Olivier mimics the French ways in restaurants, taxis, stores, etc. and as it rings a bell in tourists' minds, they keep laughing.
In addition, as Olivier invites a few people (one by one) to come on the stage with him and as American girls rather like to make the show too...
Olivier also mimics Americans...
At least that was the big lines in the show last time I went (years ago).

Hi Gérard ! everyone
When parisians go and are able to laugh at themselves, they are not too arrogant aren't they ? Perhaps parisians don't go .

Re: How to become Parisian in one hour
Hi Muriel,
Olivier laughs at everyone... he speaks with people at the first rows and guesses the nationality, and he has a few words against it: British girls for their very very short skins, American girls for their loud speaking, etc.
Last Monday -when I attended- the first girl who went onto the stage was a Chinese girl: no problem for her... I felt a bit shameful as, as a French, I wouldn't have been as relax; the second girl was an American from Chicago and -of course- she made the show
Not the majority and we are well obliged to try to laughMurielB a écrit:... Perhaps parisians don't go .

Re: How to become Parisian in one hour
Hi everyone,
Yesterday night, I had the great pleasure to meet Olivier.
In fact, Olivier had told us about colleagues of his who had their #1 in a new place (Théâtre BO St Martin) and wanted to help them (it was their #400 show but in other places). For the occasion Olivier had discounted entries.
As promised, after his own show, Olivier was waiting for us at the end of the play.
I was really very happy to meet Olivier again.
You know what!?!?!?
Olivier was able to call me by my first and last names! I was stunned! How could he know?
I am one among thousands of people following him on Facebook.
Okay I sometimes posted kind messages to encourage him and congratulate.
Yes there's a picture of me.
Yes, I wrote that I would be at the theater.
Okay he is a showman, a kind of theater actor and these guys can remember easily sentences and names...
I was so stunned that I couldn't speak much

Re: How to become Parisian in one hour
Hi Rémy,
Olivier is.
How can he remember the name of everyone?
I know him well now and I can recognize him easily but how can he do??
Yesterday, when I exited the show-room, I saw him speaking with a lady. As I wanted to shake his hand, I waited for a while. He kisses 2 girlies then shook my hand and told me "Comment ça va depuis la dernière fois ?" I don't know if he noticed the question in my brain ("How can he remember last time we met?") but he said my name: Wow!
~
I'm following Olivier for years and sent a few messages (personal and on social networks) to give some advice. After years, he got success and even fame.
I always congratulated him both on his skills and on his generosity. Now that he is famous, he helps beginners in the job
Olivier now plays in London and fills the "Théâtre des Nouveautés" in Paris (at least 400 seats); his protégés -yesterday- were happy with their promotion to a new room of 40 seats.
The job is not easy and many people or groups try to get success in Paris. Imagine that yesterday's group was playing their 401th performance and at 401, they are in a room of 40.
When I first met Olivier, he was playing in a room (Théâtre de la main d'or) of about 60 (he was a cook in New York and "friends" told Olivier "You're mad to count on such a show in Paris").
