Hi everyone,

In a previous posting in this topic:
gerardM a écrit:Hi everyone,

Item #3 of the quiz (taken from the March issue of the NG).
-3- What is the earliest known Human surgery in the archaeological record?

A - Cutting out an enemy's heart

B - Prehistoric skull surgery

C - Fixing broken bones

D - Birth by cesarean section
NB: Note the spelling "Archaeological".
Note the American "cesarean" while the British word is "caesarian" and, the French, "césarienne". We also find "caesarean"... to solve the problem, nurses just say "C-section". This sounds a bit messy isn't it? "A Caesarean section, (also C-section, Caesarian section, Cesarean section, Caesar, etc.) is a surgical procedure..." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caesarean_section ), sometimes good to have "Académie Française" Smile
Today on Facebook, a friend of mine published pics and speaks about her grandson:
Mt. Snow, VT. He went to the Summit and skied down - was out there for 8 hours straight each day for two days. We've been told that he was born with skis on his feet. I guess that explains the C-section.
Wink
I'm posting this because it confirms the use of "C-section" and it's funny.
Linda is proud of her 3-year-old grandson!
