St.George's Day
We celebrate St.George's Day in a very low key fashion. Most people don't know it is St. George's Day. St.George is the patron saint of many countries including Bulgaria. My neighbour is from Bulgaria !
Linguistically, we say " in a low key" but we never say we do things " in a high key " ( other than musically ! ). johnB.

Re: St George´s day
Tx John for your very interesting explanations and also for the expression “in a low key”
Those idioms are very useful for us.Low-key can variously mean “quiet,” “restrained,” “moderate,” or “easygoing.” It can also behave as an adverb meaning “of low or moderate intensity.
